The Best of Saxony and a Touch of Bohemian Charm – Full-Day Tour from Dresden
Discover some of Saxony’s most beautiful towns and landscapes in a single day, including a short excursion across the border into the Czech Republic.
Our tour begins in Dresden. Crossing the Waldschlösschen Bridge and travelling through Dresden Heath, we reach our first destination: the beer town of Radeberg. We make a brief photo stop directly outside the famous Radeberger Export Brewery.
We then continue via the main road and motorway to Bautzen, the historic capital of Upper Lusatia. Your approximately 45-minute stay begins at Cathedral Square. Explore the romantic old town with its medieval lanes, the impressive Cathedral of St Peter, the distinctive Reichenturm tower and the famous Bautzen mustard shop. Enjoy the unique atmosphere of one of Saxony’s most beautiful historic towns.
Our route then follows a scenic country road offering magnificent views of the Upper Lusatian Highlands towards Sebnitz, the gateway to Saxon Switzerland. We make another photo stop at the historic market square. As we continue, we pass the long-established Deutsche Kunstblume Sebnitz artificial flower workshop and experience the spectacular landscape of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains.
Travelling through Saxon Switzerland National Park and past Bad Schandau, we finally arrive in Hřensko in the Czech Republic, the fourth stop on our tour. Here, you can enjoy a relaxing lunch break. Sample traditional Bohemian cuisine, a Czech beer, a glass of wine or a cup of coffee. Afterwards, there will be time to browse the numerous market stalls offering souvenirs, regional specialities and a range of other goods.
Please note: All travellers require a valid national identity card or passport to enter the Czech Republic. Guests of other nationalities should check the applicable entry requirements before travelling.
When bringing dogs across the border, the relevant EU entry regulations must be observed. In particular, every dog requires a valid EU pet passport and valid microchip identification.
After the lunch break, we return to Germany. Our final destination, Stolpen Castle, can already be seen from a distance, rising majestically above its distinctive basalt rock. We make one final photo stop at the historic market square and enjoy the view of the impressive castle complex.
With many wonderful impressions and memories, we then begin our relaxing return journey to Dresden.
